Toytown Bray – Taken in summer 2014, this is from a series of images which explores tilt shift (miniature) photography. This photo inspired me to create my “Bray Beach Toytown” video piece (www.vimeo.com/aoifehester/braybeachtoytown).
Rialto Brollies – Taken on a busy rainy day at Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy and given a hand-colouring treatment to make those brollies pop!
Doomed O’Connell Street – I created this when we were having a particularly wet period in Ireland and there was lots of flooding.
Crazy Little Dublin – The recession in Ireland inspired this quirky little piece. For a while, it felt like the country was shrinking and that everyone was leaving.
Ladybird Trail – I was photographing this ladybird out in my garden and I ended up with a series of shots, documenting its journey – which I combined into one image.
It’s Alive – Some fun with Photoshop. I was photographing this TV to sell and one thing led to another…
Borrowers Camera – I like to explore and experiment with the idea of scale. I particularly like to create scenes with miniature people and scaled up everyday objects. This is plenty of “mini-me’s” with one of my cameras. Reminds me of the classic “The Borrowers.”
Blackjack Baths, Then & Now – I managed to get some photo’s of the iconic baths at Blackrock before demolition work began. I found a photo taken in the past and merged it with my own.
Battery Change – Sometimes, it feels as if this should be possible…
Mini Afternoon Tea – This image continues to explore the idea of scale manipulation.
Steam Train – Taken in summer 2014 when the steam train was passing through Bray. Treated using tilt shift photography method.
Mini Bus, Dublin – Tilt shift image taken in Dublin just beside Stephen’s Green.
